BRENDA VILLA
FOR LOMPOC UNIFIED SCHOOL BOARD OF EDUCATION

ABOUT ME

I believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed, and I have dedicated my life to helping make that possible. My journey began in Mexico, and when I was 12, my family moved to the United States in search of greater opportunities. Starting over in a new country and learning a new language was not easy, but my teachers, my family, and my community believed in me. Their support helped shape who I am today.
As a proud graduate of Lompoc High School and a first-generation college graduate, I know firsthand how powerful education can be. After graduating from Lompoc High School, I attended Allan Hancock College, where I earned an Associate Degree in Political Science, before continuing my education at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I earned bachelor's degrees in Sociology and Spanish. My educational journey reinforced my belief that every student deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their goals, regardless of where they begin.
That belief continues to guide both my personal and professional life. Today, I have the privilege of serving on the Lompoc Unified School District Board and working as the Director of Community Programs at the Lompoc Valley Community Healthcare Organization. In these roles, I work with schools, families, nonprofits, local businesses, and community leaders to strengthen our community's well-being. I believe that the best decisions are made by listening, building relationships, and bringing people together. Whether I am meeting with parents, supporting students, collaborating with educators, or working alongside community partners, my goal is always the same: to create opportunities that help every child reach their full potential.
Lompoc is more than the place I live. It is the community that invested in me, believed in me, and gave me the opportunity to grow. Serving this community has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I remain committed to ensuring that every student has access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality education.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me. I would be honored to earn your trust and your support as we continue working together to build a bright future for every student in Lompoc.
